Minna Nguyen
Hi! I’m Minna.
I’m a current UC Irvine Regents Scholar and Campuswide Honors Collegium (CHC) student studying Political Science on the pre-law track. Having just gone through the college admissions process myself, I understand firsthand how stressful and overwhelming it can be.
I applied to nearly 30 colleges and was admitted to every UC, including UCLA, UC Berkeley, and UC Irvine, as well as schools like USC and NYU. I was also selected as a Regents Scholar at multiple UCs, an honor recognizing outstanding academic achievement and qualifications.
Through my own experience, I learned that college admissions is about more than simply getting into college—it’s about finding the right schools, telling your story authentically, and navigating everything from essays and deadlines to scholarships and financial aid.
At Mint, I hope to help students approach the college process with greater confidence and clarity, while having someone by their side who has recently been through it themselves.

Hello! I am a current data science major at UC Berkeley, who was also just in the same position a few years ago applying for colleges. I remember the stress and uncertainty I felt coming in, so I understand firsthand how challenging the college application process can be. However, the payoff is worth it. Throughout my own journey, I received offers from universities including Johns Hopkins, UCLA, UNC Chapel Hill, the University of Washington, and many more.
I believe that a successful college application starts with understanding your own strengths and telling your story authentically. At Mint, I hope to help students approach the application process with confidence and a better understanding of what makes them unique.

Why We Started Mint
To put it simply, applying to college is complicated.
High school students are already balancing classes, activities, responsibilities, and life outside of school. Then comes the college process: figuring out which schools are the right fit, building a college list, writing and revising countless essays, keeping track of different application requirements, searching for scholarships, navigating financial aid, and ultimately making one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
And throughout the process, there can be plenty of moments when you wonder, “Am I even doing this right?”
We built Mint because students shouldn’t have to figure it all out alone.
Whether you’re unsure where to apply, building your college list, working on your essays, searching for scholarships, or trying to understand financial aid, our goal is to make the process feel more manageable and less intimidating.
We’ve been the students refreshing admissions portals, stressing over deadlines, and wondering whether an application was good enough. We know how overwhelming the process can feel, so we built Mint to help make the journey clearer, one step at a time.
